Thekua (also known as Thekua or Khajur) is a traditional sweet snack from the Mithila region of Bihar and Jharkhand. It holds immense cultural significance — prepared as prasad during Chhath Puja, served during weddings, and shared as a symbol of love and hospitality.
Our recipe stays true to the authentic Maithil tradition. We use only 100% pure desi ghee (never palm oil or vanaspati), stone-ground whole wheat flour, unrefined golden jaggery, aromatic fennel seeds, and freshly ground cardamom.
